Divine Mercy Parish was established in 2016

The parish is located in a large and thriving community in Musoma town in the Mara region on the shores of Lake Victoria in northern Tanzania, East Africa.

Musoma town has a population similar to South Bend, Indiana in excess of 120,000 people including the surrounding farming communities not far from the Kenyan border.

The local people engage mostly in subsistence farming, especially corn, sorghum, other cereal crops, as well as fishing on Lake Victoria.

Father Robert is the pastor serving 900 families that total 4,500 Catholics in his parish.

With the encouragement of Bishop Michael Msonganzila the Bishop of the Diocese of Musoma, Father Robert helped start the St. Paul Primary School on the campus of land owned by the Diocese and entrusted to Divine Mercy Parish.

Below is a picture of Bishop Mike, as he is called by his Catholic faithful, blessing the doors as the opening of Divine Mercy Parish is officially established.
