St. Paul Primary School is the premier Catholic grade school serving the local Musoma population on the shores of Lake VIctoria in Tanzania, East Africa.
The school is associated with Divine Mercy Parish. Father Robert Luvakubandi, a priest of the Diocese of Musoma is the pastor of Divine Mercy Parish and is the Founder and current Manager of the St. Paul School.
Father Robert received his Master of Nonprofit Administration graduate degree in 2016 from the Mendoza School of Business at the University of Notre Dame.
The St. Paul School had an initial enrollment of 92 students taught by 4 teachers. The school has grown significantly since then and now it has an enrollment of 235 students.
120 girls and 115 boys are enrolled in the two nursery classes as well as grades 1, 2 and 3.
Today there are 7 teachers and 9 support staff, most of whom live off campus. The longer-term goal of the school is to provide high quality education to 700 students by 2022.
The school received donations from local parishioners who created a membership under the name "Christians of Divine Mercy" to construct 4 classrooms in order to increase the enrollment of students.
An additional 2 classrooms will be added each year for each successive next grade until the 7th grade classrooms are completed. Students are required to be in class from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm each day.
Below a few members of Divine Mercy Parish sing a welcome back song to Father Robert after his return from studies at the University of Notre Dame.
The administration, faculty, and staff of St. Paul School believe that parents are the primary instructors of our students. This requires a partnership with parents to ensure full formation of the students in the beauty and completeness of our Catholic faith strengthened within an environment of academic excellence.
This was always the partnership between parents and Catholic Schools. This is how we flourish at the St. Paul School.
St. Paul School is fully registered through the Ministry of Education in Tanzania. Our faculty is highly qualified by government requirements and many hold Diplomas and Bachelors of Science in education.
Some of our faculty members have catechetical certificates in compliance with the Catechetical Charter of the Episcopal Conference of Tanzania.
