Marc first met Father Robert at the Sacred Heart Basilica on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. Father Robert often con-celebrated daily Mass with the priests of the Congregation of the Holy Cross. Marc often was the Lector at Mass.
A personal friendship began and eventually Fr. Robert convinced Marc that he should come visit Musoma and meet the people that Fr. Robert serves as pastor and School Manager of the St. Paul School. Marc was impressed by the founding and future plans of the school. A trip was arranged.
In November of 2016 at the invitation of Bishop Mike, a trip was planned and Marc traveled to Musoma for 10 days. The warmth of friendship and hospitality of everyone made this trip one of the most special times of Marc's life.
He saw people genuinely care for each other's needs. He saw parishioners untied with their Bishop and priests and nuns in a common effort to live lives as Christ taught. He marveled at the lack of any sign or expression of anger of the people in Musoma. Masses were packed. Daily confession lines seemed to never end. And he was impressed with how students enjoyed each other and their classroom activities and never tired of life at St. Paul School. It was their favorite time of day!
Marc decided he wanted to remain a friend of Musoma for life!
