2 cents per meal - Incredible!

Hello everyone … Father Robert Luvakubandi here speaking to you from Divine Mercy Parish and the St. Paul Primary school in the Diocese of Musoma, Tanzania.   I want to send greetings to all our Friends of Musoma in America and Germany …

As Lent approaches I wanted to share a success story with you all.

Think of it like this … if this Lent your school donated $100 this amount would cover the food cost of 5,000 meals for our St. Paul School … sounds incredible … right?!

Six months ago, in August, I was able to negotiate the rental of 8 acres of rich farm soil near campus to grow corn.  My rental cost was $500.  And we then purchased seed corn and fertilizer.

Parents, and teachers, and staff volunteers as well as a few paid laborers prepared the land and planted the seeds.  My additional investment totaled $1,500.

God provided the rain, and a few weeks ago we enjoyed a wonderful harvest of 88 large bags of corn enough to feed 300 students at St. Paul School throughout the year!

So, we prepare over 117,000 meals per year and this only costs 2 cents per meal!

So during this period of Lent I would like to invite you together with your almsgiving together with our prayers and fasting is a perfect way to honor our Catholic tradition during Lent.

Please go to this link on our website [ www.friendsofmusoma.com ] and enter your prayer intention at the bottom of the web-page that we will add to our daily Mass intentions.

May Notre Dame … Our Lady … intercede for us.  And may God Her Father bless you all!
